Southern Water Trails

Lake George Shoreline
is a locally-owned company based in Hiawassee, Georgia, “The Top of Georgia.” We offer Stand-Up Paddle Boarding tours and lessons on many area lakes – including Chatuge, Nottely, Burton, Seed, Rabun, Tallulah Falls and Tugalo. Stand-up paddle boarding (S.U.P. for short) is the “newest wave” in paddlesports! With Hawaiian roots, this new tradition made it’s way to mainland surf breaks, up the rivers from the coast, and into our mountains and lakes.

S.U.P. is a great activity for individuals, families, kids, couples, corporate groups, and active seniors. No waves or experience are necessary to SUP with us. It’s very easy to learn, promotes many health benefits, and we provide all the equipment that you will need. All that’s required is a desire for fun and adventure, and maybe a swimsuit and water shoes. At Southern Water Trails, our passion is getting people on the water, adjusting your perspective of our world through outdoor immersion and experiential education, and seeing the “I get it“ smile on your face as you glide your very first time. Come experience stand-up paddling and our waterways with us today!”

What is Stand Up Paddling?

Stand Up Paddling or "SUP" originated along the shores of Waikiki Beach, Hawaii and involves using a long handled paddle to control a surf inspired board from a standing position. It has the advantage of being comparatively easy to get on and off, it provides a higher viewpoint than a canoe or kayak allowing for an entirely new perspective on scenery and wildlife. It's a great work-out and, oh yeah, it's fun and addictive. Why else would you do it?
